Did you know that as a Bank of America card holder you can get free admission to different museums? Visit “Museums on Us 2017 participant roster” to see which museums have partnered up with Bank of America. Bank of America card holders can benefit from this awesome opportunity each month! Mark your calendars for this upcoming weekend, May 6 and 7th. Take advantage of this free experience to visit your local museum. Just visit their roster to see what museums near you participate.
The first full weekend of every month our family gets free admission to the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium! In order to get free admission, adults need to show their Bank of America credit card or debit card and picture ID. Children under 3 are free too! If you don’t have children consider visiting your local science museum with your partner or a friend. If you’re not a Bank of America card holder look into the bank you belong to. Your bank may have a program that has free opportunities like Bank of America offers their customers.
The Science Center and Aquarium free admission includes interesting exhibits throughout the year for adults and for children too.
We just visited recently and they had a fascinating world famous exhibit on the human body. “Our Body the Universe Within,” just ended April 23rd. It was quite interesting to see bodies preserved using a process known as polymer impregnation. It also allowed visitors to see how the human body functions. I was with my son and the content was quite detailed for him. But, I did get a chance to point out a few things he could relate to. It just so happened he read a book about the human body in his class. If I had had the opportunity I definitely would’ve spent more time exploring this exhibit.
A more age appropriate exhibit coming up for all children is the, “Amazing Butterflies,” beginning May 4th. Amazing Butterflies invites you to learn about the relationship between caterpillars, butterflies, and their surroundings. The exhibit will be an interactive one, exploring the challenges facing butterflies on a day to day basis. I love butterflies and I’m really looking forward to seeing their setup!
The Science Center and Aquarium have a lot to offer the whole family and is especially entertaining for young children!
A favorite with our son is visiting the 10,000 gallon aquarium with all types of native fish. My son also really enjoys the interactive Florida wildlife exhibition. Children can push buttons that coordinate with different animals that light up and make noises.
Another area in the science center offers many interactive displays. The giant Classic Pin Art board to make 3-D art was fun to play with my son. Do you remember making memories with the Classic Pin Art board? It definitely brought back memories for me when I was a child. The hurricane simulation machine is always fun to watch people step inside. Inside the machine visitors will feel the high powered winds a hurricane can bring. The past time we went, my son built up the courage to stand in on his own with winds reaching up to 80 miles an hour. They also have a room that freezes shadows which is a neat experience. Recently added just for young children is a giant water table, wall sized light bright, dress up and story area.
We haven’t gotten the opportunity yet but we look forward to trying their nature trail. They even have a new 18-hole miniature golf course. To see what else the Science Center and Aquarium offer visit here.
Thank you Bank of America and science museums for partnering up.
